FAQ
Do I retain copyright to any articles I publish on Koi Oriental?
Yes, you retain full copyright but grant Koi Oriental non-exclusive rights to publish your article on the website. Note that we may make alterations to your article to correct spelling mistakes or improve grammer.
Can I include URL links in my biography and articles?
Yes, you can – however we reserve the right to remove any link that we are not happy with, or to put a nofollow attribute on it. As a general guide, any links within news or articles must be related to the subject. You may include a single link to your personal or business website within your biography, although business links will usually be subject to being part of the koi/bonsai/oriental related industry.
Can I publish news and events from my local koi/bonsai club?
Yes, you are encouraged to publish any local news and events related to koi, bonsai or oriental style.
I am a ghost writer, and I write articles for clients for SEO purposes. Can I publish this type of article on Koi Oriental?
No, we are sorry but all articles must be written personally and must be based upon your own research and knowledge. Any articles written purely for SEO purposes and in particular where ‘instant article writer’ software has been used will be rejected. You must be the copyright holder or have the permission of the copyright holder for any content published, and are liable for any copyright infringements.
I work for an SEO company and/or promote products using black hat techniques, can I use your site to get links for PageRank purposes and/or to trick your genuine site users into visiting disreputable sites?
No, we are sorry but we have a strict anti-spam policy and have a number of spam filtering tools available to identify and remove offenders. Please note that all site registrations are manually checked, registrations which are not ‘genuine’ will be deleted and the email addresses will be banned. Repeat offenders will have their IP address ranges banned. We are also immediately notified of all biography updates, and manually approve all articles and article updates. We are also members of Project Honeypot and Akismet both of which maintain a list of spammers and fraudsters.
