Koi Oriental is pleased to offer its members this exclusive Koi appreciation, development and health advice line. It was a challenging Koi Oriental quest to find respected professionals in the Industry with the experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to offer their services for the benefit of Koi Oriental members. No one can argue that the Internet is a source of considerable information on all things koi; however, it is also true that there is no substitute for hands on experience gained at the heart of the Industry. One such individual is Deron Simonds Co founder and Co owner of the Koi Waterlife Centre based in Kent in the UK.

Deron at the Naritakoi Farm |
Deron has been involved with koi for over sixteen years, thirteen years in association with the company. While many other companies in the Industry speak of their regular trips to Niigata (the historical home of Nishikigoi) Deron has contacts all over Japan with a quest not necessarily to buy from the most famous breeders (which he of course does), but always to find the best koi available throughout the country. Deron makes 3 or 4 visits to Japan each year and as a consequence has now spent more than one year of his life in the country visiting koi farms and buying koi.
As is true for most things in life if you want to gain expert knowledge, talk and spend time with the masters. In this case who better than the Japanese? Speaking a little Japanese himself has allowed Deron to develop that knowledge to the fullest extent.
Koi Oriental offers its members the opportunity to benefit from this wealth of experience and invites questions all aspects of koi appreciation and development and on koi health. Every attempt will be made to answer questions within 72 hours, however, this may be influenced by the number of enquiries received and of course whether or not Deron is in Japan selecting koi.
